Russian forces are not making headway in Huliaipole; the Ukrainian Armed Forces are facing new challenges

Dmytro Filatov, commander of the 1st Separate Assault Regiment, reported that Russian troops are currently not making significant gains in the Huliaipole sector of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, as the Armed Forces of Ukraine have stabilized the situation in that region.

During a broadcast on Hromadske Radio, Filatov noted that although the occupiers may occasionally advance, these instances are isolated, and Ukrainian forces quickly neutralize their gains, sometimes even improving their own position.

He described the situation on the front lines as a “small wave” that ebbs and flows, emphasizing that the enemy cannot achieve significant gains, which forces it to focus its attention on other sectors.

However, according to Filatov, the Ukrainian Armed Forces also face challenges, particularly the ability to disrupt Russian logistics at operational depth. The Ukrainian military has found the necessary mechanisms but cannot sustain the pace of attacks as it did in the summer.

Last summer, the Ukrainian Armed Forces effectively blocked the movement of military equipment from Tokmak and Melitopol, which negatively impacted the supply of Russian units. The occupying authorities even banned people from leaving the cities, which improved the situation along the front lines.

However, due to a lack of necessary resources, the scale of operations has shrunk, and today they are conducting approximately 5% of the number of operations that were carried out in the summer.
