Marta Kos, the European Commissioner for Enlargement, expressed hope that the current tensions in relations between Ukraine and Poland would not hinder Ukraine’s European integration aspirations.
She told reporters this in Brussels, according to a Ukrinform correspondent. Responding to a question about the possibility of Ukraine’s EU accession being blocked due to issues with Poland, Kos noted: “We have always found solutions to such situations, even with Hungary, although it took some time.”
Kos emphasized that “the governments and politicians of both countries must do everything necessary to open and subsequently close the negotiation clusters.”
“I remain optimistic,” she added.
Earlier, it was reported that Polish politician Navrotsky’s decision to strip Volodymyr Zelenskyy of the Order of the White Eagle had caused some tension. In response, Zelenskyy expressed his readiness for further cooperation with Polish partners.
