On the night of June 8, Ukraine came under a massive attack from Russia, during which 155 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and Banderol types, as well as "Parody" decoy drones, were launched. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing data from the Ukrainian Air Force.
The launches were carried out from various directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk on Russian territory, and Gvardeyskoye in the occupied part of Crimea. Of the total number of drones, 124 were destroyed or neutralized.
To repel the attack, the Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were deployed. According to preliminary data as of 8:00 a.m., air defense forces destroyed or neutralized 124 enemy drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
As of the time of publication, 20 strike drones had been recorded hitting 17 locations. Debris from downed drones fell at six additional locations. The attack was still ongoing, and about ten enemy drones remained in the air.
We remind you that earlier that morning, drones struck a residential neighborhood in Konotop, Sumy Oblast, where one person remained trapped under the rubble of a damaged high-rise building, and three others were admitted to intensive care. Half of the city was left without power.
