Brazilian ex-Chelsea player shares his experience of clinical death

Oscar, the renowned Brazilian midfielder who previously played for London club Chelsea, has shared his experiences of a near-death experience. According to Glavkom, citing The Times, Oscar’s heart stopped for 2.5 minutes in November 2025.

“At that moment, I was having a beautiful dream. It was nothing like what I expected death to be. What brought me back to life was my son’s voice, saying, ‘Dad, you have to come back!’” Oscar said.

The 34-year-old Brazilian was able to recover from the incident and soon ended his professional career. During his time at Chelsea, he won the Premier League title, the League Cup, and the Europa League. Playing for Shanghai Port, Oscar won three league titles, as well as the Chinese Cup and Super Cup. He played 48 matches for the Brazilian national team and scored 12 goals.
