Lviv has once again confirmed its reputation as a leading academic hub. Three universities in Lviv made the list of the best in western Ukraine, with two of them topping the rankings.
According to RBC-Ukraine and "Osvita.ua," the ranking of the best universities in Western Ukraine was compiled based on data from 2025, specifically "Top 200 Ukraine," Scopus metrics, and the average NMT score for contract-based education.
Lviv’s Achievements
Three Lviv universities made it into the Top 10 best universities in Western Ukraine, with two of them taking the top spots: these are Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and Lviv Polytechnic National University. The third position was taken by Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.
Top 10 Best Universities
The ranking was based on three authoritative sources: "Top 200 Ukraine," Scopus data, and the average NMT score for tuition-based programs. Each university’s position was determined by summing its rankings in these lists, which allowed for an objective assessment of the quality of their education.
