Ella Langley set a new Billboard Hot 100 record

American country singer Ella Langley has set a new record on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her song “Choosin’ Texas,” which has held the number one spot for 23 consecutive weeks. This achievement surpasses the previous record set by Mariah Carey with her hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which held the top spot for 22 weeks.

"Choosin' Texas" debuted on the chart on November 1, 2025, and first entered the Top 10 in January. Since the song topped the chart in February, it has remained in the number-one spot. Ella Langley noted that the song’s success came as a surprise to her, attributing it to the sincerity of the lyrics, the catchy beat, and the melodic guitar parts.

The list of Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers now looks like this: in first place is “Choosin’ Texas” by Ella Langley (23 weeks), second place is held by “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey (22 weeks), and third place is shared by “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey (19 weeks) and “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X feat. Billy Ray Cyrus and “Last Night” by Morgan Wallen.

During the week of September 11–17, “Choosin’ Texas” received 21.8 million official streams in the U.S. and reached No. 2 on the Radio Songs chart. It has also topped the Streaming Songs chart for 23 weeks and led the Digital Song Sales chart for 18 weeks, matching BTS’s achievements with their hits “Dynamite” and “Butter.”

"Choosin' Texas" has also been a hit in the country music segment, holding the number one spot on the Hot Country Songs chart for 41 weeks. In 2022, the song “All I Want for Christmas Is You” lost the top spot on Spotify’s holiday chart to another song, “Snowman” by Australian singer Sia, for the first time in three decades.
