About 350 settlements were left without electricity due to bad weather

On May 28, severe weather caused power outages in several regions of Ukraine. According to Glavkom, citing the Ministry of Energy, more than 350 settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Zakarpattia, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions were left without power. Repair work to restore power is currently underway.

The Ministry emphasizes that no power outages are expected today. Information regarding changes in power supply should be checked on the official websites of distribution system operators.

Citizens are also advised to shift their active electricity consumption to daytime hours—from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In the evening, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., electricity should be used sparingly to reduce the load on the system.

We remind you that the government has announced a tender for the construction of new generating capacity totaling over 1.3 GW. Ukraine is actively preparing for the upcoming heating season, focusing its efforts on protecting critical infrastructure and ensuring a stable water supply. The Cabinet of Ministers has initiated the creation of a national reserve of autonomous generation and the simplification of procedures for the construction and restoration of energy infrastructure facilities. The reserve will include mobile power plants, cogeneration units, boiler rooms, transformers, and other necessary equipment.
