Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that in 2026, the country will receive an average of only 12 missiles per month for the Patriot system. He emphasized that he is conducting daily negotiations regarding the supply of interceptor missiles, according to a correspondent for “Ukrinform.”
Zelenskyy noted that the PURL program covers various types of weapons, including 20-millimeter rounds for the F-16, HIMARS and Patriot systems, and AIM missiles. According to him, Ukraine is actively purchasing weapons from the U.S. with European funding, but there are serious difficulties with the delivery of missiles for the Patriot system.
“Twelve missiles a month—that’s what we’ll be getting in 2026. When there’s a positive decision with one country or another, they give me five, ten, 20, or two missiles—and I’m very grateful,” Zelenskyy said, emphasizing the importance of these supplies for the protection of Ukrainian troops.
Commenting on the missile supply situation, the president noted that U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hagset signed documents authorizing the delivery of 12 missiles, but this is not enough, as Ukraine has used 35 missiles this month alone. Zelenskyy also appealed to President Trump for a winter arms package.
It should be recalled that the Trump administration is delaying approval for the transfer of Patriot interceptor missiles to Ukraine from partner countries. The U.S. Secretary of Defense has not yet completed the necessary procedures, which is complicating the delivery.
Zelenskyy also noted that over the past 90 days, the U.S. has provided Ukraine with only 24 missiles for the Patriot systems, while other countries in the region have used about 2,000 missiles received from partners. Production capacity for PAC-3 missiles is insufficient, which also affects the supply.
