Zelenskyy: Russia must be held accountable for the deaths of more than 700 Ukrainian children

On the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the need for Russia to be held accountable for the crimes it has committed.

He announced this on his Telegram channel, according to Ukrinform. "Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, at least 707 young Ukrainians have been killed. Every life is a lost future. Russia must be held accountable for these crimes," Zelenskyy emphasized.

The president added that June 4 marks the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression. This day is dedicated to honoring the memory of children who have suffered from war and violence.

As is known, in Ukraine, June 4 is a day to honor the memory of children who died as a result of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. This commemorative day was established by a resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in 2021. The International Day of Innocent Children is observed annually on June 4. It was established by a resolution of the UN General Assembly in 1982 to draw the world community’s attention to the problem of aggression and violence against children worldwide.
