Russian assault groups, though small in number, are constantly attempting to infiltrate Ukrainian territory along the border in an effort to expand their zone of control. However, these attempts are failing due to significant losses.
“The enemy cannot achieve significant success in advancing or creating the buffer zone they claimed,” Demchenko noted. Ukrainian forces quickly detect these groups even as they approach the border and effectively neutralize them using drones.
According to Demchenko, Russian troops now use sabotage and reconnaissance groups less frequently, preferring infantry assault units.

As reported, over the course of 24 hours, from the morning of April 22 to the morning of April 23, Russian troops carried out approximately 100 strikes on 40 settlements in 19 territorial communities of Sumy Oblast.
