One version of the terrorist attack in Kyiv: a domestic conflict

One possible cause of the terrorist attack that took place on April 18 in Kyiv may be a domestic dispute that led to the attacker losing control. Final conclusions will be drawn after forensic examinations are conducted.

This was stated by National Police Chief Ivan Vyhovsky in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

Forensic Examinations and Motives

According to Vyhovsky, in such cases, a comprehensive psychological and psychiatric examination is usually ordered, which can even be conducted posthumously.

"He was, let’s say, an unfulfilled man. In his own words, he demanded respect and wanted special treatment. In the recordings, he repeats several times that he was beaten," Vyhovsky explained.

Vyhovsky also noted that the man had previously posted pro-Russian statements on social media. "He had a page called 'Bakhmut VDV,' where he wrote strange things, such as that Hitler was right. These posts date back to 2017, but they characterize him as a person," he added.

Reasons for the crime

However, Vyhovsky emphasized that these views did not necessarily cause the tragedy. "Specifically in this case, I wouldn’t say that; it needs to be investigated. I’m more inclined to believe that he had a domestic conflict, and that’s why he snapped," he concluded.
