Russia responded to Kyiv’s attack with a cynical statement

The Russian Ministry of Defense issued a cynical statement regarding the massive strike on Kyiv that took place on the night of July 2. This was reported by “Glavkom,” citing statements from the Russian ministry.

Russia characterized this massive strike as a “response” to so-called “terrorist attacks.” Despite the extensive destruction and civilian casualties in Kyiv, the Russian military leadership, as usual, claimed that only military targets were intended.

“In response to the Kyiv regime’s terrorist attacks on the Russian Federation’s civilian infrastructure, the Russian Armed Forces launched a massive strike using high-precision weapons from the air, land, naval bases, and drones. As a result, military-industrial enterprises and energy sector facilities in Kyiv and the surrounding region were struck, as well as the infrastructure of military airfields in the Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions,” the statement reads.

As a reminder, on the night of July 2, Russian troops attacked Kyiv, resulting in deaths and injuries. Fires broke out and civilian infrastructure was destroyed in several districts of the capital. Rescue workers have already documented the damage.

Additionally, three men were injured as a result of a massive combined attack in the Kyiv region. Two of them have been hospitalized.

It is worth noting that Russia used more than 50 missiles and over 70 drones during the nighttime attack on Ukraine, with Kyiv as the main target.
