Overview of Hostilities in Ukraine as of July 8, 2026

Over the past 24 hours, there have been 271 combat engagements on the front lines. Ukrainian troops continue to successfully repel the Russian forces’ offensive, inflicting significant losses in enemy personnel and equipment. This was reported by “Glavkom,” citing the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Operational Situation on the Front Lines

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops carried out one missile strike, using one missile, and 90 airstrikes, during which 272 guided bombs were dropped. In addition, the occupiers deployed 10,063 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,065 shelling attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and populated areas, 42 of which involved the use of multiple launch rocket systems.

Achievements of the Ukrainian Defense Forces

Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ air force, missile forces, and artillery struck eight areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, five command posts, four drone control centers, five artillery systems, three command posts, an ammunition depot, and two other key enemy targets.

Regional Combat Operations

  • In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions: Two combat clashes took place. The enemy carried out 55 attacks on Ukrainian troops’ positions and populated areas, including two using multiple launch rocket systems.
  • In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector: Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 enemy attacks. The invaders attempted to advance in the areas of Starytsia, Lyman, and Artilne, as well as toward Kudiivka and Khatne.
  • In the Kupiansk sector: Russian troops carried out two attacks in the directions of Kupiansk-Vuzlovoye and Kivsharivka.
