The “Ukrainian Bookshelf” was officially launched at the municipal library in Sankt Pölten, Austria. This initiative was made possible by diplomats from the Ukrainian Embassy in Austria, who donated a collection of Ukrainian publications to the library.
The project is being implemented as part of an international cultural initiative led by Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska and is intended to serve as an important cultural hub for the Ukrainian community in the federal state of Lower Austria. It will provide internally displaced persons and members of the diaspora with the opportunity to maintain a connection to their native culture through access to high-quality books in the Ukrainian language.
For Austrian readers, this project opens the door to learning about Ukraine’s history and culture through literary and popular science works. The Embassy of Ukraine in Austria expressed its gratitude to the St. Pölten Library for its assistance in adding Ukrainian literature to its collection.
It is worth noting that a similar project has already been implemented in the Slovenian city of Koper, underscoring the scope of this initiative aimed at promoting Ukrainian culture abroad.
