How Ukrainian air defense repelled a night attack by enemy drones

On the night of October 8, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine, using various types of attack drones, such as the Shahed, "Gerbera," and "Italmas," as well as "Parody" decoy drones. The attack was launched from several directions: Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as Gvardeyskoye in occupied Crimea.

Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were deployed to repel the air attack. As of 8:30 a.m., preliminary data indicates that 212 enemy drones attacking the northern and eastern regions of the country were destroyed or neutralized.

Fourteen strikes by attack drones were recorded at 11 locations, as well as debris falling at five locations. The Ukrainian Air Force warns that the attack is still ongoing and enemy drones remain in the skies over Ukraine. Residents are urged to follow safety guidelines.
