How Ukrainian air defense repelled a massive drone attack

On the night of April 3–4, Ukraine came under attack from 286 Russian strike drones flying in from six different directions. Most of these threats were neutralized by air defense forces.

The information was provided by RBC-Ukraine, citing the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Air Force.

Scale of the attack

The Russians launched Shahed, "Gerbera," "Italmas," and other types of drones from the territories of Shatalovo, Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Of the 286 drones, about 200 were of the "Shahed" type.

Air defense

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces actively countered the aerial threat. By 07:00, 260 enemy drones had been destroyed or neutralized across the country.

Eleven drone strikes were recorded at 10 locations, and debris fell at six others.

"The attack is ongoing; about 20 enemy drones remain in the air. Follow safety guidelines!" the Air Force reported.

Shelling of Ukrainian cities

On the morning of April 4, Russian drones attacked Kyiv, causing a fire in an office building. Nighttime attacks were also recorded in Sumy, where debris struck a high-rise building.
