France continues to engage in active dialogue with China, seeking to encourage it to influence Russia to end the war against Ukraine.
This was reported by Pascal Confavre, a representative of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, according to RBC-Ukraine, citing "Ukrinform."
Confavry noted that relations between Russia and China are extremely unequal and distorted, especially since the start of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, which has isolated Moscow from many of its partners, particularly in the energy and economic sectors.
France maintains dialogue
France maintains an ongoing dialogue with China to convey messages regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine. “This channel allows us to appeal to China to use its privileged relations with Moscow to stop the aggression,” the spokesperson emphasized.
He linked Paris’s response to the intensifying Sino-Russian cooperation with the priorities of the French G7 presidency, which focuses on addressing global economic imbalances.
Putin’s Visit to China
It should be noted that on May 20, a meeting took place in Beijing between Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the meeting, they discussed partnership and the war in Iran.
