First victory: Ukraine’s women’s volleyball team wins the Nations League

The Ukrainian women's national volleyball team triumphed for the first time in the prestigious Nations League, securing a victory in a hard-fought match against the German team. In the second round, our athletes showed incredible determination to win, defeating the strong German team in a tiebreaker.

This was a landmark event for the Ukrainian team, which is competing at such a high level for the first time. After losing 0-3 to the favorites from the U.S., our girls were able to pull themselves together and secure an important victory.

How it went

The match began with a blitzkrieg from the Ukrainian team, allowing them to take the first set with a score of 25:21. The second set was a real test, but thanks to the efforts of Yakub Glushak’s players, the Ukrainians managed to stage a comeback and win 30-28.

Although the German team took the lead in the third set, the Ukrainians managed to turn the game around, closing out the match with a 15-13 victory in the decisive tiebreaker.
