Fire at an oil refinery in the Krasnodar Region following a drone attack

On the night of June 28, a fire broke out at an oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, located in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, as a result of a drone attack. This was reported by the Russian service of the BBC, citing the region’s operational headquarters.

According to the report, the fire at the Slavyansk Oil Refinery was caused by falling debris from unmanned aerial vehicles. However, the Krasnodar Krai operational headquarters did not specify the extent of the fire.

Regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev confirmed the fire and noted that the attack damaged a power line, a gas pipeline, and several private homes. There are also reports of one fatality and one injury.

Meanwhile, Mikhail Yevraev, governor of the Yaroslavl Region of the Russian Federation, stated that the exit from Yaroslavl was temporarily blocked due to the drone attack. The city is home to the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery, which has previously been targeted by drones. The traffic closure may indicate a new attack, but there is no official information at this time.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 213 drones of various types were shot down on the night of June 27–28.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, drones were also shot down in Moscow and the surrounding region on the night of June 26. Drones also attacked the Azot chemical plant in the Tula region.

According to Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service, Russia is concealing the scale of the attacks from Ukraine.
