Valery Elkins, president of the Zaporizhzhia basketball club, announced plans to replace the head coach for the 2026–27 season. He shared this news during an interview with MTM TV, according to Glavkom.
“I expect that Dmytro (Shchylinsky—ed.) will remain on the coaching staff. He successfully fulfilled his duties this season. However, we aim to improve our play and compete for medals, so the team will get a new head coach. Dmytro will become his assistant. He has been with us for many years, and we are counting on him. Dmytro is staying,” Elkinson emphasized.
At the end of the regular season, BC Zaporizhzhia finished in sixth place with a 10-14 record, and in the first round of the playoffs lost to the future Super League finalist, the Kyiv-Basket team (0-2).
