Yegor Yarmolyuk explained why he was not on the Ukrainian national team

Yegor Yarmolyuk, a midfielder for the English club Brentford who recently recorded an assist in the Premier League, commented on his omission from the Ukrainian national team ahead of the Nations League matches.

Yarmolyuk noted that a call-up to the national team is a great responsibility and privilege for every player. He expressed disappointment that he would not be able to join the team during the fall international break.

The player confirmed that he missed a significant portion of preseason training due to an injury, and the club has scheduled his rehabilitation for this period. He added that even now he is not yet able to play at full strength for Brentford.

Yarmolyuk emphasized that it is important to go through the recovery process properly, as this will help him be more effective on the field both in matches for the national team and for his club in the future.

As a reminder, Yegor Yarmolyuk has been playing for Brentford’s first team since October 2023, following his transfer from Dnipro-1, and has 9 appearances for the Ukrainian national team.
