On the night of June 9, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine, using more than 150 attack drones and missiles. Strikes were recorded in dozens of locations across the country.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a report from the Ukrainian Air Force.
Where the drones came from
The enemy used two types of weapons: X-59/69 guided air-to-ground missiles launched from the Voronezh region, and 166 attack drones. The drones included Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, "Banderole" loitering munitions, and "Parody" decoys. The launches were carried out from Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo, as well as from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk Oblast and Crimea.
Reaction of the Air Force
The Ukrainian Air Force deployed aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data as of 08:00, 146 enemy drones, including Shahed, Gerber, and Italmas, were destroyed or neutralized. 17 strike drones and two missiles reached their targets, with hits recorded at 18 locations. Debris from downed drones fell at 8 additional locations.
Enemy drones remained in the airspace in the morning.
Attack on the Kharkiv Region
Details of the attack on the Kharkiv region have also emerged. On the night of June 9, five people were killed and three others were wounded in Chuhuiv as a result of the strikes. About eight apartment buildings were damaged.
