Throughout yesterday evening and this morning, the Russian Federation’s military launched strikes on the city of Izyum in the Kharkiv region, dropping more than 25 guided bombs and firing on it twice with multiple-launch rocket systems.
According to the Izyum City Military Administration, the strikes hit several areas of the city, causing damage to high-rise and private buildings, vehicles, and energy infrastructure. Fires broke out at the sites of the strikes.
As a result of the nighttime shelling, power was cut off in the Zaliznychnyi Market, Naftovykiv, IOMZ, and Verkhniy Selyshch districts. In the morning following the airstrikes, the southern part and the center of Izyum were also left without power.
Eight people were injured in the attacks, including an 11-year-old child. All of them were taken to a medical facility for treatment.
As a reminder, a few days ago, Russian forces also attacked the town of Balakliya in the Izyum district with strike drones, killing four local residents and wounding three others.
