Rubio stated that previous proposals were not suitable for Ukraine in the past and remain unacceptable now. He emphasized that, given the current situation, these proposals “would likely be even less acceptable.”
“Peace can be achieved through new ideas and concepts, and we are ready to propose some of them under the right conditions and in the appropriate manner, if the opportunity arises and conditions are favorable. We are ready to play our part in a positive way,” the U.S. Secretary of State noted.
As a reminder, the U.S. Secretary of State met today in Manila with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. During the talks, Lavrov once again outlined Moscow’s demands regarding Ukraine, in particular calling on Western allies to halt arms supplies to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
