Very soon, from October 31 to November 13, Senegal’s capital, Dakar, will host the 4th Summer Youth Olympic Games 2026. This is a unique event that will bring together the most talented young athletes from around the world.
According to the press service of the National Olympic Committee, Ukraine will send 38 athletes to the Games: 11 boys and 27 girls. Our athletes will compete in sports such as badminton, 3×3 basketball, boxing, breaking, cycling (road racing), rowing (beach sprint), judo, track and field, swimming, beach wrestling, artistic gymnastics, wushu, fencing, and futsal.
Interesting Facts About the 2026 Youth Olympic Games
- Dakar will become the first African city to host an Olympic event.
- The official mascot of the Games is Ayo, a young lion whose name means “joy” and symbolizes the energy and optimism of African youth.
- The Games’ program includes 35 sports, and the main motto is “Learn, Share, Act.”
