The Naftogaz Group and the U.S. Department of State signed a memorandum of partnership that provides for the active involvement of U.S. businesses in hydrocarbon production in Ukraine. This was announced by Serhiy Fedorenko, a member of the board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine.
This document creates opportunities to integrate cutting-edge American technologies, investments, and expertise into domestic projects. According to Fedorenko, this will significantly improve the efficiency of the Ukrainian industry and increase gas production volumes.
The next step will be to hold direct negotiations with potential investors and implement specific economic initiatives. Yuriy Tkachuk, CEO of Ukrgazvydobuvannya, noted that the agreement opens up new opportunities for the public sector.
The cooperation covers several key areas, including joint geological exploration of new sites, strategic production planning, attracting international investors, and developing the professional capabilities of Ukrainian specialists.
The technical support provided under the memorandum aims to increase the company’s production capacity and ensure a steady increase in natural gas production. In Ukraine, gas reserves in underground storage facilities have reached 16 billion cubic meters, the highest level since 2020.
