Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have launched heavy attacks on border areas and Sumy. The shelling has damaged civilian infrastructure, and there are casualties among the civilian population. This was reported by Glavkom, citing Serhiy Kryvosheyko, head of the Sumy City Military Administration, and the regional headquarters of the National Police.
Damage caused by the shelling
The enemy shelled 26 settlements in the Sumy region. As a result of the attacks:
- a 73-year-old man was killed;
- two women sustained injuries of varying severity.
The police continue to document the consequences of the Russian Federation’s crimes.
Morning attack on Sumy
On the morning of April 5, an attack was carried out on the outskirts of Sumy, likely using a guided aerial bomb. As a result:
- a fire broke out, which rescue workers quickly extinguished;
- warehouse facilities and about 10 vehicles were damaged;
- the blast wave shattered about 10 windows and damaged balconies in a nearby apartment building.
“Glavkom” also reports that on the night of May 5, Russian troops attacked the Poltava region using missiles and strike drones. As a result of the attack in the Poltava district, significant destruction and gas outages were recorded; 4 people were killed and 31 were wounded.
