US strikes drug traffickers’ ship in the Pacific Ocean

The U.S. Armed Forces reported the successful destruction of a vessel used for drug trafficking in the eastern Pacific Ocean.

This information was confirmed by the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) via social media, according to Ukrinform.

“On May 27, under the orders of SOUTHCOM Commander General Francis L. Donovan, the Southern Spear Combined Task Force carried out a powerful strike against a vessel that, according to intelligence, was being used by terrorist organizations to transport drugs. The vessel was traveling along known drug trafficking routes in the eastern Pacific Ocean,” the statement said.

Two drug traffickers were killed during the operation, and no U.S. service members were injured.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, the U.S. military also carried out a strike on another vessel in the region, resulting in the death of one drug trafficker.
