Russia Seeks to Undermine NATO’s Trust in Ukraine: The Kremlin’s New Strategy

Moscow Is Preparing a New Provocative Strategy

The Russian Federation intends to use provocations under a false flag against NATO countries to undermine the allies’ trust in Ukraine. This was reported by Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, as reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing his Telegram channel.

“Russia is preparing provocations under a false flag against NATO countries; in particular, it may use drones disguised as Ukrainian ones to attack the Baltic states and carry out provocations against Poland,” Kovalenko noted. He also clarified that Russia’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) is responsible for these operations. In addition, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) may be involved.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski was among the first to warn about these Kremlin plans. According to him, Poland is already actively preparing for such Russian provocations. He confirmed that Ukrainian drones could play a key role in these operations.

Sikorski also recalled a recent statement by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin: “He said that if a NATO member country attacks us, we will respond. We suspect that he plans to prepare Ukrainian drones to attack a NATO member country or Russia, and then respond to such an attack,” Sikorski warned.

Incidentally, a Russian reconnaissance aircraft was recently intercepted near Poland.
