Olga Ivzhenko won a bronze medal at the World Weightlifting Championships

Ukrainian weightlifter Olga Ivzhenko won a bronze medal at the 2026 World Championships in the 57-kilogram weight class.

At the competition, held in Ningbo, China, Ivzhenko—a three-time European junior champion—took third place in the total and won a “small” silver medal in the snatch.

These awards mark the first medals for the Ukrainian national team at the World Weightlifting Championships since 2023, underscoring the significance of this achievement for Ukrainian sports.

For 23-year-old Ivzhenko, this is her first medal at the senior World Championships, although she already won bronze last year at the 2025 European Championships in the 55-kg weight class.

The competition in Ningbo will run from October 27 to November 8, and the Ukrainian athlete will continue to strive for new achievements on the international stage.
