An earthquake with a magnitude of 2.7 was recorded in the Odesa region

An earthquake measuring 2.7 on the Richter scale occurred in the Artsyz community of the Bolhrad District in the Odesa Region. The event took place at a depth of seven kilometers, according to the Main Center for Special Monitoring.

Experts noted that an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.7 is classified as imperceptible. Such tremors pose no threat to people or civilian infrastructure.

This is not an isolated incident, as earthquakes of various magnitudes have already been recorded in Ukraine. For example, in September, a 4.2-magnitude earthquake—classified as strongly moderate—occurred in the Machukhiv community near Poltava.

Also, in May of this year, a 2.6-magnitude earthquake was recorded near Dykanka, and in February, a 3.1-magnitude earthquake occurred near the village of Miltsi in the Poltava community.

This summer, five earthquakes occurred off the coast of the temporarily occupied Crimea, with magnitudes ranging from 3.3 to 4.2. These data indicate seismic activity in the region.
