The Ukrainian Army Command emphasizes that there are no plans to mobilize women, and no mechanisms for doing so are being developed. Recent reports of a possible mobilization are unfounded.
According to RBC-Ukraine, the command stressed that such statements in the media and online are manipulative and aimed at discrediting the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They believe that these rumors are being used by the enemy to destabilize mobilization processes.
“Ukraine’s legal regulations on this matter have not changed. Women may join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine only of their own volition, and only female citizens with medical or pharmaceutical education are required to register for military service,” the command stated.
They also commented on the case of the first woman who was accidentally registered without the required education. Following this incident, an internal investigation was conducted, which revealed that the erroneous data had been entered into the “Obereg” system as far back as 2021. A follow-up review uncovered several similar cases.
