The Ukrainian government has allocated 281.3 million hryvnias from the state budget’s reserve fund to support emergency repair crews who restored electricity and heat following large-scale attacks by Russia. More than 14,000 Ukrainian energy workers will receive this assistance.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
Funding and Payments
According to Shmyhal, the funds have been allocated to the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Community Development to cover payments for work performed in February. Of the total amount of 190.7 million hryvnias, funds are earmarked for Ukrainian energy workers.
“Each of the 14,000 workers will receive 20,000 hryvnias in cash as assistance for difficult work under emergency conditions,” he noted.
As the minister clarified, in January 2026, nearly 152 million hryvnias had already been paid out to approximately 8,000 emergency response team members. In February, more than 9,500 people will receive assistance from the Ministry of Energy.
Expansion of the support program
Shmyhal noted that the support program has been expanded and modified. It includes employees officially assigned the duties of emergency response team leaders during the performance of work, as well as employees of companies in other sectors who were sent on business trips to carry out restoration work at the request of regional state administrations.
The next tranche of aid will be paid for work performed in March. At the same time, companies will be able to submit lists of employees involved in the restoration through the “Diya” portal in April as well.
