Spain crushed Croatia and set a new unbeaten record

The Spanish national team secured an impressive victory over Croatia in the second round of the Nations League, crushing their opponent 4–1. This victory was historic, as the Spanish broke their own world record for the longest unbeaten streak in regulation time.

The match took place at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium in Seville, where the home team put on a dominant performance. Goals for Spain were scored by Yamal, who found the net twice, as well as Pubill and Nico Williams. The only goal against Spain was scored by Beljo of Croatia.

This game marked Spain’s 40th consecutive match without a loss in regulation time, setting a new world record. Luis de la Fuente’s team has recorded 31 wins and 9 draws, surpassing the previous record set last summer.

The last time Spain lost was in March 2024, in a friendly match against Colombia, with a score of 0–1. Italy remains in second place for the longest unbeaten streak, having gone 37 consecutive matches without a loss from 2018 to 2021.

As a reminder, the Spanish national team recently won the World Cup, defeating Argentina 1–0 in the final thanks to a goal by Ferran Torres in overtime. The team’s goalkeeper, who became the hero of the 2026 World Cup, had previously spoken about his newfound popularity following the World Cup victory.
