Shabunin criticized the Fire Point initiative through MILFtech

Iryna Terekh, co-founder of Fire Point, announced the creation of a community called MILFtech, which aims to overcome gender stereotypes and support women in STEM. According to her, this initiative will also help attract new talent to Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex.

In a post by marketer Andriy Fedoriv, Terekh noted that the company employs 7,500 people, only 15% of whom are women. The idea for MILFtech initially started as a joke but later evolved into a serious social and educational initiative.

Terekh also announced that a special manifesto would be published under the MILFtech brand, a supportive community would be created, and engineering education would be promoted among women of all ages. She reported that the corresponding trademark had been registered as early as March 16.

However, the Anti-Corruption Action Center criticized the MILFtech initiative, calling it “at the very least, a poor joke.” The organization’s director, Vitaliy Shabunin, emphasized that over the past 1.5 years, Fire Point has received 107.4 billion hryvnias from the government for drones, raising questions about the appropriateness of such initiatives.

Shabunin expressed support for the company’s efforts to develop Ukrainian ballistics, but noted that given the amount of government funding received, hopes for the initiative’s success are dwindling. He also added that the “clown show” involving MILFtech evokes more cold resentment than hope.
