Earthquake Near Lviv: What Happened?

An earthquake was recorded near Lviv on the morning of July 26. The event occurred at a depth of 4 kilometers. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing information from the press service of the Main Center for Special Control.

The earthquake, which occurred in the territory of the Pustomyty City Association in the Lviv District of the Lviv Region, had a magnitude of 2.8. The approximate time of the event was 5:24 a.m. This earthquake is classified as barely perceptible.

As a reminder, since the beginning of July 2026, four earthquakes have already been recorded in Ukraine:

  • July 3—off the coast of Crimea, Ukraine (magnitude 3.8 on the Richter scale);
  • July 4 — in the Novoushytska Territorial Community of the Kamianets-Podilskyi District, Khmelnytskyi Oblast (magnitude 2.9);
  • July 7 — in the Lokhvytska Territorial Community of the Myrhorod District, Poltava Oblast (magnitude 2.6);
  • July 9 — in the Novoushytska Territorial Community of the Kamianets-Podilskyi District, Khmelnytskyi Oblast (magnitude 1.6).
