Ukrainian tennis player Anastasia Soboleva has advanced to the second round of the prestigious WTA 125 tournament being held in the Romanian city of Târgu Mureș. The tournament’s prize money totals $115,000.
In her first match, Soboleva, who is ranked 196th in the WTA rankings, defeated her French opponent Selena Janicevic, who is ranked 240th. The match ended with a score of 6-4, 6-2 and lasted 1 hour and 25 minutes.
Interestingly, three years ago, Anastasia lost to Janicevic at a tournament in Greece. In the second round of the competition in Târgu Mureș, she will face Czech tennis player Laura Samson, who is ranked 153rd.
