A Russian attack on the Vinnytsia region damaged the railway infrastructure

On the night of Sunday, September 20, a piece of railway infrastructure was damaged in the Vinnytsia region as a result of an attack by Russian drones. This was reported by Nataliya Zabolotna, head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration.

According to Zabolotna, a fire broke out during the attack, which was quickly extinguished by emergency responders. She also noted that, according to preliminary data, there were no casualties.

The head of the Regional Military Administration emphasized that Russia’s attacks on railway infrastructure are deliberate and aimed at disrupting its operations. Currently, relevant services are continuing their work at the scene of the incident.

She also noted that Russian forces are systematically attacking “Ukrzaliznytsia” facilities, including passenger trains. For example, last week a train traveling between Kyiv and Warsaw was struck as it approached the Polish border.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has classified Ukraine’s railway infrastructure as a “legitimate military target,” asserting that attacks on these facilities will continue.
